The hidden half of domestic violence
How to have eternal life
Hanging with the Wrong Crowd
Over the last several years, I have talked to many parents
that were concerned that their children were "hanging with the wrong
crowd" I have even felt that about my own kids at times.
Why the concern? Every good parent wants their children to grow up to be responsible adults. As a result, we do get concerned when they hang out with others that do not appear to be setting good goals for their lives. They may be using drugs and alcohol and often dress
immodestly thus giving us the sense that our daughters could well come home and say "I am pregnant" or we are afraid our teenage son will tell us he is going to be a father.
Is it not just our kids we need to be concerned about that may be hanging with the wrong crowd? We can run with the wrong crowds too. Oh, often we will try to pretend that we are hanging around with them to help them but in reality, it is far easier for them to drag us
down then it is for us to pull them up.
In case anyone is asking how an adult can do this let me explain. Suppose we meet someone and befriend them. They ask us to go out to a bar with them. Now maybe one time may not do any harm but what if we went with them night after night. Then we move up to wild parties in which drugs are being used freely and immoral sex is everywhere. If we stay in this environment, it will not be long before we are tempted to participate.
Now regarding Shattered Men, many women have become radical feminist by taking women study courses in which misandry is taught because they are desensitized to it. If we hear a lie often enough, we may just well start to believe that lie.
I may add that these women may well think they are real women just as there are men who are the exact opposite as the radical feminist who think they are real men because they tell everyone what needs to be done with those that do not agree with them.
Hanging with the wrong crowd. Why is it so dangerous? If we socialize on a regular basis with those that drink, it becomes easier for us to start drinking. If we befriend those who hate, we will learn to hate also. We do tend to be like those we hang out with.
I ask....who do you hang out with my friend? Are they those who will build you and others up? Or do they tear others down?
The Bible tells us to think about good things.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise,
think on these things.
When we hang with the wrong crowd, we can not have fellowship with GOD. James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
There is a high price to hang with those who do not follow Biblical principals.
12 Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue;
13 Though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth:
14 Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.
15 He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.
16 He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper's tongue shall slay him.
There is a solution. If we are Christians and are hanging with the wrong crowd, repent and get new friends. The best place to find them is in a good Bible teaching church.
If you have never trusted the Lord for salvation, that would be the first step my friend because we will have the scales taken off our eyes so we can see the damage hanging with the wrong crowd will do.
