The hidden half of domestic violence

How to have eternal life

Suicidal?

Many of those we come in contact with are feeling depressed.  Often, by the world's standards, they have reason to be.  Many have lost their homes, their families, and essentially everything they have worked for.  Many really believe that NO ONE cares about them...they feel REJECTED  Often it is felt that everyone would be better off without them....that no one will miss them anyway.  Others have terminal or chronic illness which results in constant discomfort , inability to do the things they feel they need to do to be useful, or are in constant pain, often severe pain.

Let us look at some facts concerning this:

NONE  of our actions will  affect just us alone. Doing things to harm ourselves is sin. I know you are aware of that or you would not be asking for help and you want help or you would not be reading this.  Everyone wants to be wanted...and YOU are my friend...read the rest of this message!   Please be aware that NO sin...only cost just the one sinning. It always demands a payday from others too

We know that to break the law...it is sin.  Someone that drives while they are drunk may feel they are just endangering themselves,  but are they?   Why don't you check with M.A.D.D.  about this?  (Mothers Against Drunk Driving)   Go to the funeral home where they are having service for a child killed by a drunk driver.  Then tell me sin only effects the one doing it.

Look at the family of the man or woman that is having an affair.  Look that that persons spouse...wondering whose bed their husband or wife is in now....Then tell me sin only effects the one doing it.

How about the man or woman that now has a sexual transmitted disease because of an unfaithful spouse?  My very own sister in law DIED from A.I.D.E.S. because of a husband that was unfaithful.  How about telling their daughter sin only effects the one doing it.

Thinking of taking your own life?  If so...remember YOUR children will more likely see taking their life as a viable option.   Are they too young to be a Christian?  Remember...they are not likely to become one either...for why should they want to trust a God that could not or would not help their mom or dad?  Tell me now that sin only effects the one doing it.

Don't have kids?  No problem...any of your other relatives or your friends will also see it as an option.

Also remember the source of these feelings...these feelings of wanting to take your own life.

John 10
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Lets look at how God feels about death when it is not His time:

Ezekiel 18
23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

You can also check verse 32 and 33:11.

In contrast God tells us

Jeremiah 29
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Remember also the end of John 10:10... I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

HE MEANS it my friend....He Means it.

Now I do want to explain something here so there is no misunderstanding.  Yet I do want to be careful with those that have been thinking of taking their own life.  Suicide is not God's will for our life.  It  shows that we do not trust that HE is a God of His Word, that He is able to meet our needs.  That His grace IS sufficient for us.  This being said,  we know that suicide is a result of not having the strength to lean on the Lord, BUT, it does not mean that that sin has not been forgiven.  PLEASE remember, there are  times that this is a result of illness.  If a Christian can have a broken leg, and no one contest that they can be a Christian, why is it that they do contest it when one may have "mental illness"   Some mental illness is caused by a real chemical imbalance.  One the person has no control over.  Depression can often be a result of hormonal imbalance and if not recognized, it can lead to these feelings.   These feelings can also be a result of false guilt.  This can be a result of feeling we were not there for someone else and that is why they took their life.  This is one reason so often, others feel they need to take their life.  Please click on false guilt.  to read more on this.  Most of  all, remember that God is the judge of all things and HE is able to know why someone was not strong enough to bear the things they were.  Also, if one has trusted Christ for full payment for their sin,  ALL of their sin was paid for.  ALL of it.  This includes this last final one that we could do.  We are often afraid to say that because we do not want to encourage anyone to do it, so please, if you are thinking of this.  contact one of the moderators of our  partnership groups    Lets not just  stop here my friend...lets get some real solutions:

Romans 12
1   I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2   And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Proverbs 23:7
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

My friend, the battle is in our MIND.  When we start to think something...and keep thinking on it...our thoughts become our fantasy.  Fantasies become desires which lead to our choice...or our consent leading to  our action.  Actions become habit.  Habits establish our character.

We need to change the way we THINK to change our action.  One of the BEST ways I know of to do this is to PRAISE THE LORD!

PRAISE  got Jonah out of the Whale.....and Paul out of the Jail.

Jonah 2:1 Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly,

How often do WE wait until we are in a crisis before taking it to the Lord? Is God in a box that says "In Case of Emergency. Break Glass"

No my friend, God has the very hairs on our head and He wants a very personal relationship with us.

verse 4 Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

Sin separates. It separates us from God before and after salvation. Sin AFTER salvation does not cost us salvation, but it does cost us FELLOWSHIP with God. That alone my friend is so precious. Notice that much as David did when David sinned, he wanted the joy of salvation restored. Jonah said he would once again put God first...He would look to God.

Jonah learned a good lesson in verse 8 "They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy."

How often do we want to do things OUR way? We even come up with lies to show how it was God's will for it to be our way. But we do it at the cost of mercy...and at the expense of one WHALE of a ride.

Jonah was STILL in the belly of this great fish. The prayer meeting had been going on for sometime. But we find another thing happening in verse 9 "But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.'

Jonah started PRAISING the LORD. Much at Paul and Silas in the prison, their release came after they sang praises unto God (Acts 16:25) the same occurred to Jonah. Verse 9: "And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

My friend, are you in hard and difficult times right now? Is your home broken, Your heart broken? Wonder where the money is going to come from for the bills? Your health a shambles?

PRAISE HIM. PRAISE THE LAMB FOR SINNERS SLAIN. GIVE HIM GLORY ALL YE PEOPLE...FOR HIS BLOOD CAN CLEANSE EACH STAIN.

Yes it is hard to praise in the midst of the storm. This is one reason why praise is called a sacrifice.

Psalm 27:6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

Psalm 54:6 I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good.

Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

There are so many other verses that tell how God wants our praise. After all, don't WE like to hear praise? Don't we like to hear our kids say. Dad, I am so glad you are my dad, Mom, I am so glad you are my mom...or brother, sister ....
