The hidden half of domestic violence

How to have eternal life

There Is A River

Recently, the temperatures have been soaring in many parts of the
country. Many who have to work outside know how refreshing it is to
get a glass of cold water.

More heartbreaking was a recent news article about two small children
who were kept in the basement by their step mother. They had not
eaten in several days nor were they given anything to drink for about
3 days. Even a glass of water would have been so much appreciated by
these precious children.

We have had several people in Shattered Men tell us about being
denied food and water. Some have told me about how they were
punished for getting what most of us take for granted...a drink of
water.

The Bible tells us in Luke 16 about another man that wanted water,
but could not get it.

22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the
angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth
Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send
Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my
tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

Just a drop of water....but he could not get it. You see, earlier he
had refused the LIVING WATER! I am sure one of the greatest torments
for those who will never have water again...is the memory of the
offer to take this living water, but they refused it. Could this be
YOUR last chance to drink of this water?

John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him
shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in
him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

There is a River....

There came a sound from Heaven, like a mighty rushing wind.
It filled their hearts with singing and gave them peace within.
The Master gave this promise, the Spirit will descend
And from your inner being a river with no end.

There is a river that flows from deep within.
There is a fountain that frees the soul from sin.
Come to these waters, there is a vast supply.
There is a river that never shall run dry.

There came a thirsty woman, who was drawing from a well.
Her life was ruined and wasted, her soul was bound for Hell.
But then she met the Master, who told of her great sin
And if you'll drink this water, you'll never thirst again.

There is a river that flows from God above.
There is a fountain, that's filled with His great love.
Come to the water, there is a vast supply.
There is a river that never shall run dry.
That never shall run dry.
