The hidden half of domestic violence

How to have eternal life

Blessings or Cursing?

"u stupid piece fo trash u dirt demon chil u are os dam worthles i
can belive u did thsi to em"

Once again, I am sitting here wanting to get this message out to
everyone I can. It is my earnest prayer that the healing ministry of
the HOLY SPIRIT will flow through this keyboard to YOU.

The above statement was made by a precious friend in first person as
if this event was just happening although it occurred when they were
but a child of 3 or 4. This person's aunt and uncle called them a
demon child. I will use "he" now but I do not even want to disclose
the gender of this person as it is up to them to reveal who they
are. The ironic part is this person has just found out that his
uncle, the same one that called him a demon his father!
He is a product of...rape! I believe there was a demon involved with
this child but it was not in the was in his aunt and
uncle. You see, the above is just part of the story. What did this
precious child do to them? He got out of a dark closet to get a
drink of water. His punishment was ...well I will not say what water
he was forced to drink as a result.

I have written about the power of praise before. I have told how
that if we call someone stupid, they will tend to believe it and to
live up to that expectation. James tells us: "Out of the same mouth
proceedeth blessing and cursing." Last Monday, I found this hitting
too close to home. My grandchildren had been with us for a few weeks
and I was bringing them home. After driving about 3 hours, we were
within ten minutes of their house when I stopped at a very busy gas
station for gas. Jenna asked if she could get out of the car
to "stretch her legs" I confess that I lit into her and said "real
smart...let's go play in a busy gas station. I said more as we drove
the last few moments.

"Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing!" I think it
was ironic that , I had been thinking of this message for a few weeks
and yet out of MY mouth....

I called Jenna the next day and told her I was WRONG! She did not
deserve for me to go on and on. I told her I should have just said
no, you can not get out. You will be home in a few moments. Her
next words were "apology accepted"

Folks, our words to our precious children will make or break them.
It will also make or break us.

Psalm 109:17 As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he
delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.

We will be cursed of we curse others wrongfully. (Since we are told
to love even our enemies...all of it would be wrongfully) We are
also told we will be blessed if we bless others. The rest of the
109th Psalms indicates our health will be affected by our chose to
bless...or to curse.

Folks, when we curse or mistreat a child, we are hurting the LORD
more then anyone else. God tells us that children are a gift from
HIM…a heritage from God and we are blessed if we have many of them
(Psalm 127:3-5) Jesus also had a very stern warning to those who
mistreated a child. In fact, I think HE suggested something about
getting a mill stone as a necklace and then going swimming.

satan has a deadly six pack of curses that we often see.

Degrading humiliating

Derisive Mocking; jeering.

Derogatory Disparaging; belittling

Destructive Causing ruin or destruction: Having the capability or
effect of damaging irreparably

Displeasing Causing displeasure or dissatisfaction; offensive

Disapproval condemnation

The child above was subject to each one of these. Many of those in
Shattered Men have been subjected to these curses or they have seen
their children subject to them.

Although we have started this with an example of a child being
horribly abused, this message on blessing or cursing is not just
about what we have had happen to us as children, or what we may do
with our children, but it applies to what we do to each other and
what we do or what our spouse does to us. At the end of this
message, I will give suggestions on what to do if you have been the
subject of the above but for now, let us focus on how to bless others
in our lives and especially our children and our spouse.

Blessings consists of the 5 "A"s

Our child's entire future is influenced by the praise we give (or do
not give) today!

Blessings involve

1: Meaningful (but appropriate touch) A warm, gentle hug, a kiss, a
pat on the back. Touch is very important to convey love and
acceptance. It lets one know they are not "untouchable" This shows

2: Spoken affirmative words let us know we are valued. AFFECTION
is shown by this.

3: Value being expressed ....I am so glad you are here....thus

4: We need to communicate a special future.

5: Those we bless need to know they can count on us. This shows

By doing all of the above, we show APPROVAL

In the movie "CLICK" a father and a husband got a universal remote
control that he could pause or fast forward events around him. While
it was fast forwarding for him, those around him went through life.
He found he had become old and that he missed out on all the
important events in life. His kids were grown up and he missed it.
He was too busy working to make a living that he did not stop to make
a life.

My friend, are you "fast forwarding" through life? Our family needs
more TIME with us, not more toys.

We also need to remember that the best way to bless others is to make
sure we bless the LORD first and foremost of all. Just as we have
seen in Psalm 109:17 that if we bless we will be blessed, if we
curse, we will be cursed. This most certainly applies to blessing or
cursing GOD.

Earlier, I will give suggestions on what to do if you have been the
subject of cursing. In this, please remember these things that GOD
says about YOU!

ACCEPTANCE Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in
that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. My friend, God
accepts you…just as you are. He does not expect us to clean up or to
do anything to be worthy of HIS love. Just as a new born baby can do
nothing to be worthy a parents love, most parents love that baby and
will give their lives for it…JESUS DID give HIS life for us…for YOU!

AFFECTION Proverbs 7:2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law
as the apple of thine eye. You are the apple of God's eye. If HE
had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it

APPRECIATION Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think
toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to
give you an expected end.

APPROVAL Matthew 25:21a His lord said unto him, Well done, thou
good and faithful servant:

ATTENTION Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without
covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath
said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. You have and will
always have HIS undivided attention.

My friend, regardless of what others have or are saying about you,
what really matters is what does God think of us? You may have been
told you are no good,. You may have been called a demon child like
this person, BUT the moment…the very moment we put our trust in Jesus
Christ...we become a child of the KING…we become a joint heir with
Jesus Christ

Romans 8:16-18

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are
the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with
Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also
glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not
worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us

2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might
be made the righteousness of God in him.

My friend, this means that when we trust Jesus for full payment for
our sin, that when God looks at us, He will only see the
righteousness of Jesus Christ in us. How can this happen?

Someone To Care

When the world seems cold
and your friends seem few
there is someone who cares for you
when you've tears in your eyes
your heart bleeds inside
there is someone who cares for you

Someone to care, someone to share
all your troubles like no other can do
He'll come down from the sky
and brush the tears from your eyes
you're His child and He cares for you

When your disappointment comes
and you feel so blue
there is someone who cares for you
when you need a friend
a friend till the end
there is someone who's a friend to you

Someone to care, someone to share
all your troubles like no other can do
He'll come down from the sky
and brush the tears from your eyes
you're His child and He cares for you
